I love to daydream and often my dreams turn into art. I also like to experiment with dirt and plants to see what kinds of colours they make. I like messes, I like surprises, I like art. Also, I'm Canadian so I like to add the letter U into words like colour and favourite.
When I was a kid, I'd pack my art supplies before anything else for family trips into a vintage Samsonite train case... just in case. Being an artist is part of my identity and one of my favourite parts of myself. I love to experiment, play, and learn while expressing myself. I've always made my living from my art.
I work with place based analog art materials like handmade earth pigment watercolour paints and botanical inks as well as digital. I love the unpredictability of analog materials and methods paired with the ease and consistency (and the "undo" function) of digital! Hybrid illustration allows me to integrate my favourite parts of both. I have also been known to turn unpleasant paperwork into charcoal for use in my watercolour paintings.
